About Us

Founded in 1983
Thompson Electric is a medium sized electrical contracting firm, founded by Don Thompson and Ron Bank in 1983. The company was built on a simple philosophy: “Our success will come from employing the best electricians in the business. For it is our employees who represent us to our customers. We wish to maintain an ethical standard of conduct that we can be proud of, treat each customer in a fair and honest manner, and budget each project to provide our customers with more value for their dollars.”

The company has experienced a steady growth since opening. Ron Bank retired in 1997 and sold his half of the business. From 1997 until 2003, Don Thompson served as sole owner and President. In November of 2003, Don sold his interest in the company to his children, Terri and Keith. There are now three generations of Thompsons working at TEI.

One of the many ideas that has stuck since the beginning is “to deliver just a little extra to each customer and to give the customer a little more than what was required” and this practice will continue for years to come.
1.
Our Mission
Our main goal is to meet and exceed our customer’s expectations. To achieve this, we strive to provide innovative electrical solutions and applications through quality materials and superior craftsmanship. Our focus will be to provide our services in a safe, professional, and efficient manner that will be profitable to both the customer and the company by working together as a team.
2.
Why Choose Us
Our industry is very competitive. Low price is so often the only thing that a customer sees. However, we have found that many of our customers recognize that low price is not always the best price.

As a merit shop contractor, Thompson Electric, utilizes the apprenticeship training programs offered through Arkansas Construction Trades Academy. Apprentices attend classes for four years while also earning on-the-job training hours over that period.

Our goal is to maintain a staff of 40 to 80 electricians. We have updated tools and equipment, which allow us to complete our projects in a timely manner.

We will competitively bid commercial and industrial projects. We do offer design and build services for those customers who may have specialized needs. We can also offer value engineering to customers who may have budget limitations.

Thompson Electric is a drug-free workplace and is certified by the Women’s Business Council – Southwest, a WBENC Regional Partner Organization, as a woman-owned, operated and controlled business.
